The
children’s social care system has reached a tipping point with more
being spent on residential care placements than early intervention
services for the first time.

Children in most need of specialist mental health support often turned away because their situation is too unstable
An
analysis by researchers at Cambridge University and the National
Children’s Bureau of more than 71,000 children’s health records shows
that despite it being well established that these vulnerable children
are more likely to suffer mental health conditions, they are also more
likely to be refused access to NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health
Services (CAMHS).

Petition Hand-in and Digi Van
With
a new Government comes new opportunities, and so one week after
election day, five young ambassadors representing each of the charities
in the Children’s Charities Coalition, went to Downing Street to hand
the petition in.
